Hi all new here i've a 02 zetec s estate tdci. Now firstly ive got a whole load of boost leaks from the hoses I keep repairing them with a layer of duck tape then plaster board scrim tape then more duck tape. Which lasts for a while but now I'm bord of it n want to change them does anybody know where to get the cheapest silicone full set from? Secondly I want more POWER besides just a good old service. I gather the egr blank n inlet clean helps. But is there owt else that help performance either just elbow grease or cheap parts. And then finally are re maps a good choice. I'm worried about my flywheel, a mate started driving a 115 hard and the dual mass gave up n took the rear main oil seal, starter motor,, caused a gearbox whine n took a day to get the flywheel off.

 

Sort the hoses out as soon as you can tape won't fix them as there is a LOT of pressure that goes through them - leaking hoses will do the turbo no favours. eBay seems to the cheapest place to get silicone ones.

Definitely blank the EGR - on an 02 Mondeo it will cause no issues at all, and will improve the car.

If you want more power, a simple remap will work wonders - but if the clutch/DMF is tired it will finish them off. If they've been replaced not to long ago then they can take the increase in power without any issues.
