Cheap Diesel for £1,700 MG ZT or MK3 Mondeo?
I really do have a low budget for my next car I've been tootling about in a mk1 mondeo td for the past year and it's finally miserably failed its MOT. I've been looking at the mk3 tdci's 130bhp however in my price range i can only get one with about 85-100K miles on it and what majorly puts me off is that the DMF's go on them around this mileage. I've done some extensive research and the MG/Rover 75 CDTI's look fantastic for reliability with the early BMW chain driven 320d engine in them. Any other recommendations and should what should i look out for on a 10 year old diesel mondeo?

i have a mk3 tddi which are way more reliable than the tdci's, they are only 115hp but it pulls my car trailer with car on it like a train, and goes to an indicated 120 on the clock with ease, when it goes i plan on getting a e class mercedes 320cdi, if you can find a clean one they are well nice cars
As said above go for a tddi rather than a tdci mk3 mondeo.
If you're worried about the dmf why not just find one that already had it changed? 80 to 100k isn't exactly alot of miles especially on something of this age for £1700
