'Street legal' is a loose term here, but impressive all the same considering it drove 1400 miles on the road before doing this pass:


Did anyone else watch Drag Week last week? Amazing bit of entertainment in the Unlimited class with Bailey, Larson, Lutz, Cline and then Berry all running 6 second passes in street legal cars!

 

Bloody hell that's impressive stuff!

I believe the Bentley has the same engine spec as Tom Bailey's street legal car (below), which ran a 6.52 at 226mph last week, so it's got the minerals!

 

Only saw it run once, i think it had turbo issues over the weekend.

 

Imaging the fuel that thing much chomp through!

Gallons per mile rather than miles per gallon!

 

I love cars like this. They must spend thousands and thousands just to go fast in a straight line.

 

The Bentley was supposedly 250k on top of buying the car.

I just don't "get" 1/8th mile drags, what would they be running on a quarter?

 

They are running 1/4, he's doing 180mph @ the 1/8 - 216mph at the 1/4 6.16sec

 

He was doing 1/8th runs earlier that day as shakedowns

 

its mind blowing to think there faster in a 1/4 mile at 226 mph than rods saph down the whole of brunters

it must be absolutely savage in there doing a 1/4 mile run

 

All these cars seam to run Precision turbos as do a lot of the stuff coming from America, Any one have much experience of then over here.

I see they do a GTR kit.

That's bonkers! Huge respect fair play!

 

Easy to think he's doing 1/8th with the times it runs!

My mate runs a Precision Turbo on his drag Corsa - seems to perform well.

 

It's doing the 1/8th mile in 4.00 seconds at 188mph.

To put that another way 0-188mph in 4 seconds!

The owner also pulled the parachutes early, hence the slightly low terminal speed but he has hinted there's a 5 second 1/4 mile time in the car.

It does have 3000bhp and runs on methonal on the strip though!

 

Oh, and he says there's around 250,000 dollars in the car and it was built purely to win Drag Week last week (which it didn't) and to break the world record, which it did.

 

I don't follow it much but the guy I use now and then for welding and bits and pieces Andy Robinson just became the first british pro mod car in the 5's.
Ive had a good look round his workshop and there's some serious gear in there lol
