Default rear swinging arm bushes on ford ka 2004

can anybody tell me how to replace swinging arm bushes on ka and is there a right and wrong way to fit them. i just brought a pair off ebay from autoparts.

drill/burn out the rubber, hammer and chisel out the metal surround. clean up and press in the new ones.

Small chisel down the side between the bush metal casing and the arm. Smash it through. Then the bush can be hit out.

Getting the new ones in can be a pain without the right tool. You can make a tool with 2 sockets and nut and a bolt. Similar to this....

Drill the rubber out tthn this will leave the other outer metal part of the bush. Get a hack saw and cut the metal part then chisel it out.

thank you for all your replies, your method worked a treat and yes ,they were a pain to get new ones in but worth the struggle in the end.
