Took the parts guy at work out to a local show last night in my Cossie and he fell in love with it. Been looking on Internet for one for him to buy and the prices seem to have doubled from a few years ago or more but the examples for sale seem to be miles better than the junk that was up for sale a few years ago

Bloody hell I would never have guessed that. Made me laugh at the show I went to last night at our local raceway, we were driving out and we heard a lad point at my car and say to his mates 'look at that escort, I like that' did make me chuckle lol

Prices have definetly increased due to the amount that have been broken and still lots of good cars being broke. There are good cars out there still for reasonable money, some cars seem to be advertised at £10-12k but don't think they sell. A mate sold a very nice 4x4 on eBay recently and it made £5900. Think u need around £6k for a decent car these days upwards.

I had a cracking 4x4 Saff changed hands for £7k back in 2008, might have gone up a couple k by now if it's still in good nick. 2wds are much more sought after and command higher money.

Yeah it's the parts prices going up I'm not looking forward too :-( I've been hoarding some parts for a few years in case the prices suddenly shot up. I expect they'll get to a point in like 20 years time where they'll be no parts anywhere. Though company's seem to be makin a lot of new parts while the cars are still popular
Sold my 92' Smokestone Sapph early this year for 7K, stage 3, engine rebuilt, new bigger turbo, clutch etc. approx 3,000mls prior to me selling it. The car was a real straight rust free example with lovely clean leather.
I have made a very big mistake selling it even though I was hardly using it! I have been browsing the sights again looking at Cosworths...

I did notice while I was looking at some a little while back for a mate all the 2wd ones seemed to be thrashed heaps of shit owned by nippers who had ran out of money long before they put it up for sale but the 4x4s seemed to be owned by older gentleman who money was no object. Maybe different now that was a good 5 or so years ago
Always liked saffs, and when I get itchy for something new would consider one, but for a good nick with lower miles theve gone thorough the roof over last year or so, bought my low mileage erst about a year ago and they were similar prices to that around 6-7k, now your looking 10-12 if your lucky. But then they all have made a jump, 2 years ago I sold my mk1 focus rs 66k miles for about 6 grand, 2 years on your looking at 9 grand. Just hoping when I get an urge for something new my erst will rise at the same rate as the saffs and other rs's models!
