Default My rs now gone

Gone but the scars will last a longgg time. Sold the mercury grey s2 after all but it the year long of ownership must be one of the worst ever. From the bloke I brought it off to the one who did the work on it, I don't think il trust many sellers or mechanics again. Always been too trusting and want to believe the best in people but only got a couple months of driving it and lost about £4k.

Any car is a money pit if you are paying others to work on it.

Unless you can do most the work yourself these old cars just aren't worth it.

What is really important to me is finding a trustworthy garage with people who have the skills and knowledge to do a proper job and take a pride in their work. I have had my 2wd Sapphire for nearly 20 years and have always used Richard and Malcolm at Tremona Garage in Southampton to do the work on it and they have never let me down. There are good people out there but unfortunately also others who are only interested in getting as much money out of you as possible and not giving a fuck about the standard of work they carry out.
Choose your garage wisely!

I find this prob with some of the garages I've worked in, the boss wants to take on specialist work like performance engine rebuild when mechanics are only normally trained for standard stuff and they try it and fuck it. Best to use the well known engine builders if u can't do it yourself and most normal indipendant garages aren't skilled for that kind of stuff but some will take it on thinking they can make a quick buck on it. If I weren't a mechanic I could never afford to run my Cossie if I had to pay someone else to do the work
