Pulled up at the petrol station, filled up like normal, went to get in and pull away, couldn't engage 1st?? Tried reverse, nothing.
Turned it off and the gears worked fine so managed to get back to the car park in 1st couldn't see anything obviously wrong.
Drive round the back around of the car park, 3rd, 4th and 5th engage relatively ok, but 1st 2nd and reverse are a right bugger to engage if at all.

Any ideas? Need the car tomorrow to travel to a photoshoot so any help greatly appreciated!

 

Forgot to say, 2.0 tddi on a 02 plate

 

clutch , you could try whilst stationary , select 3rd, then down to 2nd then 1st,
reverse will be best selected with engine off, or it will crunch like mad
maybe a fluid issue , master cylinder , maybe low maybe leaking,
clutch maybe worn bad, should go another day or 3 if you nurse it,
guessing clutch worn, obvious leaks underneath will mean clutch master cylinder

 

My old mondeo was like that some times turned out was low on gearbox oil!
