Default First Project - MK4 Escort Van

Hi all been browsing the forum for almost a year now and decided to grow the minerals and do a thread I'm 18 of ages and been given this van off some mates for £500, so here it is

As you can see im not exactly going to be pushed to the back of my seat with this 1.8D, looked manky

Gave it a quick once over, topped fluids, drained, and cleaned.

My first wing repair, these wings will probably be replaced at a later date anyway, just to make the van feel like mine that bit more.

Filled, sanded, filled, sanded untill it was smooth then primered (over spray but going to be all redone yet)

Sanded rears down whilst removing a large escort badge, sanded down due to rust bubbles and some awful repairs on the body which i just cant remove

more updates soon, cheers for looking

Got some more pictures off my phone, some are at later stages.

As you can see below the lock is a patch of i dont even know what, but i sand it down and it does nothing, now i havent tried an electric sander yet because im doing other things so just wondering if you know what it could be, patches all over the usual places, such as the wings, above the windscreen seals

Jet washed, cleaned the carpet and dyed it black

Mk4 suites rs2k wheels tbh

And the plans are
All RST exterior and interior, maybe a 1.8 tdi engine
lowered and resprayed maybe white with the old school tiger stripe theme or rst grey, i dont know yet, but already has recaro's in from the 90spec.

Whys that? I never seen a mk3/4 van go for under 1k on eBay, if anything they go for more I think 500 is ridiculously cheap

UPDATE:
Been very busy moving into a unit, behind mine funnily enough, got all set up in there and the work commenced, as well as me i have my mate stripping his 2.0 pinto p100. so far i have completely stripped the bay all the loom unrevealed and taped back up nicely as i have so removed wires what i presume was an alarm at one point.

at 18 im taking this slow and nothing but correction and no dodgy wiring or anything, i want it to be safe, next step, remove the engine weekend and clean weld and smooth the bay and primer it, more updates soon, comments welcome cheers

UPDATE, Loom is pretty much out, engine is ready for coming out, dash is out for a tidy up and clean the bay once the 1.8 has gone

well i read up on a mk4 zetec on how much work they are, apparently i can use a converter plate and everything is just plug and play from there? if not a td for now as insuring it would be an issue

Drop in a 2.2 tdci out of a mondeo st tdci. Don't know if anyone has done it to a mk4 escort though. With the right mods they can produce about 220bhp and about 450lbs foot of torque!
