Default Lowered the mondeo

My day has consisted of seized bolts, a lot of agg and cut knuckles changing the springs on my mondeo st tdci was an absolute ball ache of a job had to do it on the floor too. Had to drop the rear of the front subframe just so I could get the ball joints out of the hub carrier, so that the hub can slide off the shock. Rant over. Got there in the end and the car looks and drives a lot better.

Fair enough! Just get one sorted ready for the next set of mods (because we know if never stops at one or 2)

One of the front springs on mine broke a while back and the garage that replaced it said it was a git of a job, glad I didn't bother trying to do it myself.

The front was a sod to do. I almost gave up but I don't like to be beaten.

Just found this thread and I'm halfway through lowering my 1999 v6 ghia x and so far both pinch bolts on the rear hubs/struts have sheared and I've had to drill them out. The job is a real arseache. PMSL!!!

I managed to snap a pinch bolt on my old mk3. Drilled it right through and nut and bolted it. Bastard of a job!

As said above. It was a right chew on for my. Ive had my cossie suspension apart a few times and have never snapped a bolt yet. Properly because i copper slip all bolts when refitting.

To get the bottom arms out, I cut the head off the bolt and bought new ones and put them in from the bottom instead of the top. Saves having to drop the subframe
