Default mk2 fezza rebuild starting

im rebuilding a 1984 fiesta 1.1 ive had to buy new sills, new rear arches and do some welding underneath and hopefully putting final coat of jet black on tonight. Im not sticking with the 1.1 I was thinking of getting the escort rs 1.6 but was wondering if anyone else had better idea of a quicker engine that sorta fits in without much work and also for a good gearbox.
ill be uploading photos over weekend.

I was thinking of the 2.0 but I only have about a grand to spend on the conversion. also I have seen a mk3 escort 1.6 running for 700 and was thinking the box could go straight in. I don't suppose you know where you can get bumper corners for mk2 fiesta do you having hard time finding them

You can use a RS2000 16V in it with a fiesta 1.6 diesel gearbor and a helix clutch

There were several Escort MK3 1.6.

Carb engines with 65, 79 and 96 bhp
MFI engines with 90 (rare catalyst engine, only a handful were built) or 105 bhp
MFI RS1600i with 115 bhp
RS Turbo with 132 bhp.

All came with the same gearboxes like the MK2 Fiesta. So it's plug&play. Driveshafts also fit, but you should use the thicker driveshaft (the longer one) out of a MK2 XR2.

You also need the XR2 (cvh) engine mount, Fiesta MK2 CVH alternator mount, drivers side CVH front tie bar and the XR2 gearbox cradle with the engine lowering.

Carb'd engines are quite easy to install. A FI engine needs a lot more work with wiring, fuel tank etc.
