Hello all, The radiator hose that runs from the bottom of the radiator to underneath the alternator on my 08 1.4 fiesta has wore through after rubbing against the power steering pipe I cant get near the spring clip underneath the alternator to let the hose off.
what do I need to do to remove the alternator?

I usually use long nosed pliers or adjustable water pump pliers,
but if its impossible with the tools you have,
you have no choice but to remove alternator
draw a diagram for the alternator belt for re-fitting

 

thanks mk2, theres no tensioner on my fiesta, do the bolt and nut above the alternator tension the belt?

 

if there is no tensioner the long belt will be tensioned via a tensioning pulley.

some have a bolt that you attach a spanner or wrench to, and allow the tension on belt to slacken , they do spring back quite fiercely so watch out,
