Thought it was about time I took some more pics of the old girl as it's coming up
to 20 years old now

Interior has been stripped and the cage went in

Bought some Cobra Imola 2's and some proper Luke Harnesses too,
the door bars wouldn't go in so the door cards were removed
and replaced with ally ones. After Rich Pon said that I
would be better with the switches for the lecky windows in
the dash I have decided that is what is going to happen as the windows
clip the switches if you push them in fully. Cheers Rich for the
Advice.

Bonnet Pins and Blocks have been added , obviously not to everyones taste but
they do serve their purpose and it's my car!

Not much changed here but will do in the future, Bodywork bits gonna
come first though.

The M.O.T runs out in July and the car will be getting restored and the
engine out to be finished off after the deposit for a house has been saved.
If it takes a year or 2 then sor be it as it's mine for the long run.
Apparently there are only about 500 left so I feel very lucky.
Got an SECS Monitor coming to fill the gap where the stereo used to be
to 20 years old now

As for the track thing , slicks are obviously the way forward or is that just a bit more practise
Like Pon said to me " If you don't spin on a track day then you aren't trying hard enough"

whats palnned for engine mate?
keep it up
I really am in 2 minds as to what to do with the engine as I have the 1.9 specialised engines in there but the rods and pistons are standard ones.
So I see it as my options are:
1) Stick with the lump I have and put steel rods and forged pistons in.
2) Go back to a 1.6 and do the same as above ( not to keen on this idea)
3) Go the full zetec route with the steel rods and pistons.
I wouldn't bother with going zvh as it just seems like half a job and I would just regret not going the full zetec.
I really am stuck on what to do management wise as I was talking to Nigel B about his Series One and he runs Autronic which got me thinking.
I have a Level 6 ecu in there now with the wiring loom and sensors which has to be worth atleast Ł250, I have a P8 ecu which was or is planned to go in mine and that is worth Ł300, mapping for the P8 is going to cost around Ł600 plus the bits for antilag as I have the maram shaft in my T34
So all in all that's probably about Ł1400 already when say for example Autronic is about 2 grand mapped.
The Question is " How hard would it be to go full zetec and is all the extra money on adapting brackets and spacers etc worth it? "
Oh What to do
Gonna be a while till it's done anyway and like Rudey said I will take my own time as I feel no need to prove anything else on the car to anyone but me as it will be a track car mainly
Well mate you know i'm going 16v with cossie management but I quess it depends what you require from your engine, I did plenty of events with the Fiesta ZT and I always drove to and from the event with no problems, but then if you look after any engine and play it safe if will last.. for me it would be a choice between 2.0l 16v or 1600cvh.
From the pics your car looks pretty solid would it not just need a respray??
Good luck with all the plans

Fooking love this car, proper clean and always a pleassure to work on.
Dave, i want first dibs on the management stuff for ( hopefully ) a new project, i'm moving shortly and will have a garage so if you need a hand stripping it let me know!! Plus you won't get lost
as it'll be 2 roads down from my old house!!

Gary you are a star
The car has been faultless since your fettling
May have to take you up on that offer of stripping it, may not be for a while as I want to do it in my time as when I first got the car there's always that pressure to get to a good standard of performance and I am quite sure that you have helped me achieve that
Adam,
After doing The Beds Track Day the bug really has kicked in but I must resist as the purchase of a house is being taken seriously this time. We shall do battle.
Perhaps next year sometime
I got SCC to mount the seats but you get the rough idea from this pic

Really not sure what to do engine wise and with the management either.
If I decide to go aftermarket management then it goes without saying that you get first dibs on it Gary
The car is staying with me for the long term and the price of restoration compared to what I have already spent is just a small percentage
