Default Rawli's fiesta pics n vids

was bored so thought id share some pics of what ive been upto and some vids(albeit shitty camera phone vids)

car was well overdue some work, had a plan of fitting a 2wd cossie cooler without having pipework everywhere as has been done before. walked in very blind, but luckily came out on top, lots of swearing and a good few days later it evolved

took the turbo off, removed the compressor housing, redrilled and tapped the housing to accept the actuator bracket....why you ask

compared to the original

ahem... turbo now exits forwards - anyone see where this is going

cooler bought of RS_Nuts (ian )

basically look lots of fettling to get right, including fitting the intercooler upside down to get it anywhere near centralised, my biggest downfall was overlooking the fact that the mouth of the intercooler was actually narrower than the frst rad i was using, managed to get round it though, just

tight fit (ignore temporarily bodged hoses)

ran out of time, (had an empty workshop for a few days) so had to make it drivable, sat on the drive like this until i had time to finish it

dashing i think you'd agree

then the cutting came -

standard recess (for comparison)

cut the upper part of the recess out, and plastic welded it in place (very daunting on my one off bumper )

cut a long story short, lots of cutting was needed, but i managed to squeeze it in where i wanted it

and the finished article (has been off and altered again since to give the cooler a better position)

just how i wanted it

last week again i had the garage to myself again so thought id do some tidying up

cut a very long picture thread shorter heres the before pics

and after

painted the strut brace white, started tidying up the engine bay and adding some chrome

intercooler sat wonkily in its bigger recess

not bad for a shonky little 1.1 fiesta

few vids off my camera phone last night - chatter anyone :P

http://s15.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2...53TW7OX4HBH0O1

got some more little camera phone vids knocking about if anyones interested

not much more left to do, quite a lot to fit but nearing the end i think

leaving the back brakes, car stops well enough, if i fit rear disks ill need an escort mastercylidner modifying, i also run the risk widening the track, which is cruicile i dont touch due to the lowness and the size of the wheels

thanks lads

cheers tim, tried to make it as free flowing and lag free as possible, i came up with what you see above, minimised pipe work and bends get boost building up from 1700rpm, hitting full boost at about 2400

will have to see how it copes with temps when i get an ACT gauge
