Recently bought another ST170, which was owned by a 67 year old and only covered an average of 3k a year over the past 5, so happy with budget tyres - Admiral 712 (Front) and Ceat (Rear) - Noises and dangerous in the wet.

Previously I've had Khumo Sport KU39's and found them to be a good mid range tyre.

Does anyone have experience or could recommend a different tyre - Budget circa £300 a set.

Not sure how much they are in your size but I've had nothing but praise for hankooks. Had the s1 on my focus and they were very grippy. made the car feel very sure footed even on wet dirty country roads.

 

The tyres are 215/45/R17 91 W

 

I fitted continental sport 2 tyres on my ST170 all round, and very happy with them. not sure what price they are as I got mine on offer, but the grip is greta and road noise is decent too.

 

I have the ku39's on my focus at the moment and find them great in all conditions. I've heard uniroyal rainsports are a fine tyre.

 

set of T1Rs is a good shout as they have come down in price now if you shop around
