To build or buy Si?

realistically to build one to the spec of this is around 18k but it all depends on how much you can do yourself and more importantly who you know

this car has 14k worth of receipts with it of PROPER purchased items lol so you can imagine how much cash parts were bought, not to mention labour etc.

Mine is having a lot mroe done to it though, its staying bike powered but im working with TTS to install a supercharger kit and the whole body is going carbon fibre, the internal panels are also being remade in composite.

Looks like a nice bit of kit. IMO you need to spend your money with
a race instructor and get more seat time, these two things will make
you faster than spending your money on more power. These cars are
designed to work on aero loads, to gain full advantage of this, you
need to carry speed through corners, an instructor will teach you to
push to the limits and get the full potential from the car.
All my own opinion of course, good luck with the car and above all,
enjoy it.

Thanks,

Matt.

Fair enough, do you know anyone that can do the carbon for you?

Looks a lot of fun and must be pretty fast as it is!

Si I gave 6k for mine si so 2nd hand is the best way to get an absolout bargain. The thing you have to remember is that someone has built it, I didnt hesitate with mine as a lad who works for me's girfriends dad built it who has also done a lot of work for my brothers car. So i knew he was a very competent mechanic and doesnt do things by halves hence the high spec of the car. The beauty of it is though if I blow the engine its just 700 for another, such cost effective fun compared to big spec turbo engines which cost the earth. Not too sure about the carbon work as of yet, I think there may be someone local to me who may be able to help out but thats a long way down the line.

Matt I agree 100%, this was my first EVER track day so to complete it in a rwd car like this was exactly a walk in the park lol. I was really struggling to pick decent lines on the corners etc, going to do another 2 trackdays this year before the car gets revised, im trying to sort some tuition at oulton park which I know will help me out a lot. Im really looking forward to getting better in the car as its one o the best things ive ever bought.

Cheers for the positive feedback peeps

It does get a long, its just so easy though to think you are in a gokart until you glance at the speedo lol.

Very easily get a false sense of security init and start getting over confident on the bends

Havnt a clue but can find out soon as hopefulyl back out 22 of next month, in a straight line I would imagine not much but the bends are defo a different kettle of fish, the grips amazingly and also the braking will generate a lot of force. Its freaky how late you can leave the braking till, so different to driving a car
