Default Sierra saph cosworth T5 gearbox

Since buying this sierra sapphire 2wd cosworth I've noticed sometimes it is extremely hard to get it into gear.
From a stand still it's like their is a brick wall between neutral and 1st gear.
Is this a common issue ?

The car has covered 107,910 miles from new.
Clutch is fine pedal feels good. But every now and then it don't want to go into gear. Even going through the gears whilst driving feels very notchy.

Many thanks

Hi , you say the clutch is ok but to me it sounds as though the clutch could be dragging. I had a similar problem with my 2wd, How much travel is there from clutch pedal right in to clutch engaging? If there is hardly any movement from no drive to fully engaged it is pretty certain to be a faulty clutch. If not it may well be worn selector forks and worn synchro gear which means either a strip down and re-build or an exchange or another box from a decent Ford breaker. I can recommend Bara Motorsports for rebuilding your T5, they know their stuff.
Cheers Richard from Southampton.
