Hello I have a ford escort xr3i efi a thinking about changing to a 1.8 zetec I have read somwhere that you can fit this engine straight in with little fuss. I have read on a forum that you can use the efi inlet manafold by fitting a adapter plate which means it run ok is this right can anybody help

Yes thanks looked at that before that shows adding wire loom the bit I read says that you don't need to change loom just add plate to inlet and that's all you need trying to find out if that's right

 

You would be as well strapping a blower to the engine whilst you are at it

 

Might as well go 2 litre in all honesty, 130bhp as opposed to 105 and oddly as it was never found in a hot hatch it can be cheaper to insure too. Pretty straight forward convertion too.
