Default Frst t2 turbo upgrade advice

Hi running a t2 turbo on my fiesta at 10psi, wanting to up grade the turbo to run around 15psi but don't want to go down the t3 route as like the way they drive on the t2 set ups

Now I presume I could send mine off to get re-built but has anyone used a t25 which I've read about? Where I can I get these and are they a straight swap? Seen a few things about the md39 dynamics turbos can be good too?

What are your experiences?

Cheers jk

The reason everyone says go T3 is because it's tried and tested and generally 195 chips and the like for ford management are written to work with a T3.

Every turbo will behave differently and require a different map to run it safely and effectively. If you have aftermarket management it is not a concern as you can map it any way it needs but if you're in ford management and not wanting to have a custom chip/map created you really are best using the trusty old T3

Yes agree it's a tried and tested way as I have don't it on previous fiestas I have owned, but I find it drives better in t2 as it's fairly lagless and you not need to wind the revs up all the time so keen to explore the uprated t2 route this times

what about the turbo from the Nissan bluebird turbo! I think that they have been used! Also have a look at a up rated one from turbo technics I know they are expensive but they are supposed to handle a bar of boost!

I got a T2 Turbo technics turbo on my FRST, it boosts and holds 1 bar of boost and pulls very well, little lag prior to boost. Its set up with an MSD chip plugged into the standard ECU. 176BHP, plenty of power for the little car.
