Default How much. S1

I cant get over the price of this S1. Mods this isnt a for sale thread.

Surely its not worth the asking price. I bet most of us have spent a few grand on our old fords but I wouldnt put that few grand on the price of my car if I was gonna sell my saff.

this has been discussed on face book as he always tends to add 1000's to the asking price of cars he had a rs200 replica i think it was for 200k

You wanna read this thread as well - not the best recommendation for the dealer you will ever see.

http://www.rsownersclub.co.uk/rsocbb...d.php?t=522405

Guy paid over the odds for something that resembled swiss cheese .............

He took it for an MOT after he found some "areas of concern" and the results were just shocking - iirc the word "dangerous" appeared a few times !!!!! All this a few weeks afetr a Pass!!!!!!

Fortunately he got his money back in the end

Anyone can stick a massive price tag on a car, don't mean shit all, it is what it sells for that matters and that aint ever selling for that, not even half that. And going off the rep the garages has, I wouldn't touch it full stop.

There was a thread on here about someone who paid top end money for a red s2 from there which was rough as fuck.

Ron Hodgson has traded in my home town Wigan for years before his more recent move to Skemersdale. He was always very expensive but cant say I heard of him selling any dodgy cars. Then again don't think anyone I know would have ever bought a car off him at the price he charges. That S2 he sold is a shocker,i know any old Ford might have some hidden rust but that's blatant bodging and covering up.
P.S I always thought the RS200 he had in was a real un that had come out of a museum ???

Was not a pop at you mate, I just assumed it was a real un because of the price tag and am sure someone local said it was an ex museum car with about only 1500 miles on the clock. It was on sale for Ł149,000 for over a year then Ł200,000 then seemed to disappear from sale.

Its a shame as this car is mint, a friend of mine owned in and restored the bodywork to a v high standard and the last owner had the engine, turbo and gearbox re built at Nobles i think.

But at that price its just going to sit there for years!

The think is who would pay 20k for this car where there are better examples for sale for more than half the price.

glenn there are quite a few people looking for s1,s now mate ,and are probably more sought after than 3dr cossies at the minute .maybe its because they have reached 30 year old now

it s not worth thinking about daniel lol

they gain vintage status then mate ,so they enter a new chapter so i would think a 10/20 % increase would be on the cards

My Mrs gave up going at me about my S1 years ago. She knows the car isn't going anywhere, and I reminded her that three ex's said I'd sell the car for weddings etc.

They've been and gone, S1 still here....reminding her of that every now and again does no harm !

I think both are stunning cars Glenn, I;d take a 3dr happily but I wouldn't sell my S1 to do it. Both or I'll stay as I am. I don't have anywhere to garage another car, or I'd likely have bought one by now.

Thats no different to people asking 60k odd for an rs500, its still a sierra! Just think what else that could buy

Not saying this particular car is worth 20k but the fact its a mk3 escort is almost irrelevant
