Default T5 front oil seal

Has anyone replaced one? If you remove the bearing carrier over the mainshaft to replace the oil seal do you have to mess on with end play or for just a seal replacement Just put back as it was removed with the same shim?

Also can this be done without having to remove any other section

Many thanks

If it's shimmed and your only changing the seal just put it back with the old shims. You would only needs to check shim heights if you was changing the bearings on that sharft
