Does a series 1 spoiler fit a series 2 bootlid?

Does a series 1 spoiler fit a series 2 bootlid?

I've seen it done before, but I laid a series 1 spoiler on a mk4 bootlid and it is miles off fitting?

Do you have to use a mk3 bootlid?

My mate has a s1 spoiler on his s2 no issues

Really? Mine is a genuine ford spoiler and on the mk4 bootlid It just doesn't sit anywhere near?
