Reckon the majority will be classics (70% say) the rest will be moderns (although TBH I reckon 3 doors and saph cossies could well count as classics now)

Not sure i agree with that 1985 would be my cut-off date.

Must admit was surprised they ran an article in Classic Ford featuring my Saff. My Saff is old but no Classic surely.

surely any definition of classic has to move with the times and progress year on year.

If its 1990 this year then next year 1991 etc etc.

thats how the rest of the world views the definition of classic - as things get over a certain age, be it 20 or 25 years generally, then they are considered classic or retro or whatever. Dont see why the ford scene should be any different

Our stand did as it was told, only pre-1990 cars on there. My lad followed me up in his Focus RS, and then left it in the public car park and came in with me.
However, when we got in there and saw the amount of post 1990 cars (there was a whole stand full of post 1990's behind us including a couple of FRS's), he took my stand pass and went and fetched his in.
No one was policing the so called 'pre-1990' rule, even though those not complying could easily have been turned round on at least 3 occasions before parking up.
I'm afraid it's a case of 'when in Rome....'
Oh,and yes, get there before 8 if you want to avoid the queues, was just starting to build at the entrance when we came in at 7.50

I live in Northumberland, and leave at 6am. Normally get in about 9.30 - 10. But was closer to mid day. Was a cracking show, que'd like a fucker to get out too, and witnessed a wide boy going off on the marshalls/security for the traffic jams.

Always one. ...

I will of course, be posting a load of pics when back home.

Stands were not as full but saw over 20 stands in good positions with focus and late model cars which made all the so called rule changes by the organisers pathetic and not enforced, only the proper classic old skool clubs and pf followed the rules

They should have let his tyres down and pushed to the side of the road.

There was one twat in a Focus RS500, overtook us as we stopped to let the guy in front of us (the big V8 Zephyr Yute that was running in the demo races) stop and to close his bonnet down as he'd put it up whilst queueing so his engine didn't cook. Nearly ran the poor sod over as he got out of his car.

So I guess there was in fact TWO of them there today

3 Hour drive down for us luckily got to the queue at about 8.50 so not too long to get in, stupid with the traffic coming into the road from 3 directions the crossroads a nightmare!

Was behind a silver saph in the queue smoking like a bitch, not smelling too good either, its off this forum and was on our stand but won't post the reg, sure a few will know who i'm on about! What was the problem?

Also burnt to fuck and its gonna be a sore day in work tomorrow Good day out!

I obeyed classic fords rules to the letter Glenn, real shame other club organisers chose to ignore it , but glad everyone had a good day all the same as thats what matters

We got there around 0900 on Saturday. Drove straight in lol. Campervan is the way forward

Show was good and was mostly old stuff - as I think it should be. The show was pretty big as it was, new stuff there in quantity would have diluted it IMO.

i really enjoyed the weekend but was a little annoyed that we the lancs group had decided not to put a stand up as we dont have enough classic cars in our group and then when we got there, there was non classics everywhere!

We had a good day there, the only thing that pissed me off was arseholes who stand up in the stairways in the stand because they couldn't get a seat so then the people that have got seats can't see anything. That was my only gripe as minor as it is and TBH a few modern Fords don't spoil it, obviously they can't be allowed to dominate it as it's a classic event but the few that were there didn't take anything away from the classics.

How the Show was set out this year was possibly as near to perfect as you can get

Main Tarmac area from the top of the fire up lane down was Classics Only and then diluting outwards to a mixture of Fords.
Sadly the weather dictated which areas could and could not be used

Still a great Show

I agree the classic fords show be the first in line to have there stands then have the modern fords at the back. Most ford owners love all models of fords. Sadly not all of us could afford a new focus rs and also own a mk1 escort.

Anyway it will soon be ford fair yehhhh.

We got there about 9 and queued for about 45 mins, not bad at all really as we knew it was gonna be mega busy.
Was an awesome show, so busy and a lot always happening and so much to see.
Never seen Santapod so packed.
Even though there was this 'pre 1990' rule I knew it'll never be enforced hence once arrived and walking around there were focus's, ST's, mondeos etc all parked up on stands and running etc.
Was a good mix of cars all over as I like all ages of Fords anyways.

On another note anyone know the dark blue 4x4 saff that was running high 11 sec quarters?
Man that thing was fast!!! ( had a small sticker in the window that said 'Gamble'? )

Cheers Paul

Looked to be a few fords scattered around after we left around 7pm ..... with not too happy owners ! surely not all broken down

3-4 down the little roads that lead down to pod, then a couple scattered around the little villages you drive thru , irchester etc .....

I had a great weekend

got there about 5pm sat in the motorhome and chilled out

I took my mates mk1 escort van ( in my covered trailer ) as they were unvailing it on the day and didnt want anyone to see it before hand

I thought the show was one of the best i have been to

well set out and mostly classic old school cars ( never noticed any modern stuff )

weather ,,fantastic
Cars ,, superb

Traders ,, what a joke ,, my skip has better stuff in it that they were selling ,, lol

And for those that moan about Getting in and out , then get there early and leave later , lol
