hello, got a mondeo mk3 v6 with the dreaded timing chain rattle. has anyone actually chainged them and all that goes with the job. I have a straynes manual but can anyone offer any advice other than get another engine? I am doing it for the challenge! I intend to do the job with the engine in the car. if I mess up I can get another engine and use the new timing chain and stuff. thanks

 

Does it rattle all the time or just on start up ?

I should imagine the chains are ok, it's usually the guides and the tensioners that wear out.
