www.etis.ford.com might tell the colour if you've got the vin number

There should also be some sort of ID plaque in the engine room, which tells you what color it is. For example I have Moondust Silver coloured Cossie, and in the engine room plaque it says ''Moondust Zilver''.
My Car Check on Iphone brings back
Make : Ford
Model : Sierra Rs Cosworth
Colour : Not Stated
Power : 150BHP?
Other Saphs come back with the model being : Sierra Sapphire Cosworth, seems iffy to me.

Not a fan of red ones, but it's always nice to see a rare car, especially if it has a story to go with it.
Those online HPI checks won't tell you much unless you pay for a full one or get someone to a proper one for free. My car is imported and bugger all comes up before 1998 unless I get a 'decent' HPI.
As said, check the plate on the slam panel, under the carpets and trim for any obvious signs that is used to be a different colour for example, or get a better HPI...

if it's an 89 car it won't be red, they came in the 90 and 92 spec version (from memory) and it was nouveau and another red, think ford quoted as them making 12 red saphs as a 92 spec 4x4 not too sure about the rest
The Bomkers red sapphire is for sale at the moment, in the listings it states that it is a 1989 special order in Radient Red (one of 5 made to celebrate the end of 2wd production)
I think Red (Radient) was only offered on facelift 4x4 saffs it was a brouchre colour, just not many people ordered it
