Default Windscreen has 2 small chips close together, do I repair or leave it?

While driving through country lanes today something that sounded like a house fell from some trees and hit my windscreen today, chipping it in 2 places about 100mm apart.
Can it be repaired with 2 chips this close together?

Just got off the phone to my insurer, who connected me to auto glass.

1 is the size of a match stick head and the other is smaller, both have small cracks below,
1 is 10mm the other is 15mm, they are 130mm apart.

Auto glass says they won't repair it as they could crack across the 2 and also the small 1 is too small.

Should I get it repaired?
I've got a Ł100 excess. I don't really have the spare cash to do it at the mo but if it's unsafe I will.

Autoglass said it's quite safe to leave and I can still get it replaced if it cracks and it won't affect my cover.

Do I repair it or leave it?
It's my wife's car she ferries out 2 year old around in.

i doubt they would crack during repair, and if they did it wouldnt be because of the that distance apart. try a different company see what they say

"autoglass said its safe to leave"

there's your answer from a reputable company, better than advice from some random experts on the internet.

my advice, would be leave it and monitor it, it wont shatter in to a million pieces killing your wife and kids. if anything, it will crack, then the crack will grow, if that happens get it sorted.

on the other hand if you are that worried and its playing on your mind, get it sorted now as no matter who tells you what, your mind wont be at ease

The chips are on the passenger side, 80% of the time that seats empty.
A mechanic friend who I trust 100% said just leave it until it cracks.

I will wait until I have the cash spare (as if lol) and fix it then.

modern windscreens are safe to use even after a stone chip crack, I used to dremel the stonechips out on windscreens and fill them with translucent repair solution, normally decent repair companys will try and repair first and if it splits further then they replace the glass, no need to panic just drive it until you can afford it just dont ignore it
