Angry Insurance for Sapphire Cosworth.

Is it just me or have other Cosworth owners noticed a big increase in the cost of their insurance this year?
I have been insuring my Sapphire 2wd with Adrian Flux for the past 16 years claim free and this year they say it will cost £869 for comprehensive cover!!
This to me seems a lot, who are other owners using for their cover? I have an agreed value on mine and declare all the many modifications I have done to my car. I am a mature driver not an 18 year old.
Any feedback will be appreciated.
Cheers Richard from Southampton.

Try a classic car policy, I got a quote for a Sierra Cosworth in London for less than £250 a month or two ago. And that's with no no-claims bonus as they can't be used on a classic policy.

The better classic polices allow a fair amount of modifications, too, as long as they aren't monster power etc...

I think its just insurance in general on the rise.
I've been with need2insure for 4 years, but they ramped up my renewel by over £150 this year!?! The only thing thats changed is I have another years no claims.

I was comparing various quotes that I had been given over the last two years and they had all gone up by a minimum of £100 this time round.

How old are you?!

As said go with classic unless you use I daily.
Peter D James quoted me £280 fully comp all mods declared with unlimited mileage by they only take 1 off payments not installments.
I rang flux and it was only £230 and they take installments with all mods declared limited to 3k!!

I'm 34 now though which probably helps lol

Ask for Gary Hamilton as he knows his stuff

In reality to buy and then modify another Sapphire up to the same standard as mine would probably cost more than £21k! If your car gets stolen, written off or burnt out work out what it will cost to get another one !

Hi,
Over the last 12 months I haven't noticed premiums for Cosworths increasing to be honest. If you would like to PM me your details I'd be happy to take a look at your details to see if there is any I can do.
Regards,
Dan.

My car is the same, I just never thought they'd agree a value taking mods etc into account.
