Default Rear pop out quarter windows? And how to fit...

I am just wondering what everyone else thinks about pop out rear quarter windows? Does a 90 spec have them standard?

I have a 80 spec series 2 with sealed rear quarter windows and I am wondering how easy the pop outs are to fit? Does my car have the holes behind the trim or do I need to drill some?

Anyone done it?

Cheers
Billy

The hardest part is to source the windows, they are getting harder to get hold of and fetch good money. Then you will need hinges and rubbers. Sometimes they come up for sale but not often. Sure they only came on the series 1.

I'll have to have a look for some... If I source all the parts for them are they a simple fit? Are all the holes already in the shell or will I have to drill some? 😕

I have a pair of opening rear quarters that are unetched from an S1. These are complete with hinges and open/close catches. No rubbers or screws for fitting to shell. Open to offers via PM only please. Suggest collection/meet up only (I'm in North London) as I don't fancy posting glass!

Cheers, John

They didn't put them on the S2 in this country, you'd have to look abroad on eBay at the like of spain, portagul and the like to maybe track some down. I have got them on mine but as rare as hens teeth, also the S1 had a brown tint were as the S2 had a green tint.

Found complete windows with hinges on ebay and the seller is selling the rubbers aswell. Item numbers are 181354262403 & 181354259447. I would have them myself but ordered all my rear plastic windows on friday.

Known seller - Famous for ending auctions early when the price isn't near what he wants.
Also odd pair and one etched.
