Escort s1 turbos prices
Thought I would get myself a s1! What happened to the mint examples for under 8k? Is it me or am I looking in the wrong places? 12k up words seems a lot for a mk3 escort
Mint examples under 8k? About 8k will now buy a reasonable, probably high mileage and high number of owners example. Mint (what does that really mean?) examples are likely to start from 10k upwards. Top examples (single or low owners, low mileage, full histories etc) now change hands at 15-20k.
Biggest problem is people who hear of the cars that sell at the top end and add a couple of thousand to the price of theirs.

I think some prices just jump up because one or a couple of people have a minter...
I went to see an 8k S1 last month and to me with 121k on it and it starting to show it's age again after a part restore was only a 5k car.
One person puts up a minter at 12k and everyone else with a fair condition one says "mine must be worth at least 7k then" then all of a sudden prices have shot up! It happens more with series 2's really.
The thing is with them becoming more rare people will pay it.
I have an old Renault 19 16v cabriolet stored away, 1 owner, and no rust at all, only around 21 are left on the UK roads, I might advertise it for 10k this week

I may have to just get the money out! But knowing my luck will pay threw the nose and they will hit rock bottom. Was looking back posts from a few years back and brammers one was for sale for £7500 and that was a cracker! So would that be 15k now then if you remember it
