cossie Lewis/MK4 Lew Fiesta Thread
Ive been asked by Lewis to start his mk3 Fiesta project thread as he's having difficulties with his account.
So his plan is to turn his base model mk3 Fiesta into something a little more appealing but still easy and economical on running costs as we can all appreciate.
So i'll start with the pics he's sent me and try my best to do the thread justice until he gets on.
So this is the car

Very clean Example, you dont see many in as good nick as this these days. So its a great base to start on.
So The mods so far;

RS Alloy Wheels

MK3.5/4 wing mirrors
Bearing in mind the car has only been in his possession for 2 weeks, its not taking long for the project to take shape! He's already sourced a RST bodykit minus a rear bumper and bonnet.
More updates to come as and when they happen.
Well done Lewis

Didn't like the crap he got on here from a few people.
Think they forget he's a young lad.
Look what happened with that meet he organised! Well happy for him with that one.

Nice one... these fiestas are bloody reliable. Me and my dad had one that we shared a few years back and I would of trusted it to take me on a trip around the world.
for now He's looking at XR/RS parts and Bumpers along with a few other ideas he's had.
He didnt end up getting the reyland seats, so hes going for a set of 90's spec Recaros and a xr2i rear bench and door cards.
I know hes reading this so i'll just mention that i think he should go RS1800 Interior with Black Dash

Little update, no pictures.
Today he has given the car a polish, inspected the body work.
As well as one bit of welding he already knew it needed, He also found one other patch of rust that needs welding, all other can be treated no problem.
He also removed all the tacky chrome strips that are proper Halfords products
He'll be looking at the welding this weekend, the interior is already out ready for the work to begin

I've got 2x rear RS bumpers and a front if he still needs them, also got a set of jacking cover points but the arches/skirts were warped badly so they went.
Got all sorts actually
What happened to his Escort?

A question from Lewis:
"The current stoppers on the car aren't the best, so I'll be looking at an upgrade. Is it worth going Fiesta Turbo"
Any answers or tech talk will be much appreciated

Update from Lewis:
I sold some part to a friend and i also got some parts my way too, so my side skirt kit and XR2i spoiler came today, so I only need a rear bumper now.

And earlier I measured up one of the patches that was needed, marked it out an then cut it out of the sheet of steel.
Then my dad tacked it in, ready to be fully welded in fully tomorrow.
I have also seen that one of the drivers seat mount has almost snapped all the way round, so will sort that out too.
Cheers for looking guys

There isn't much welding that needs doing, the seat mount had snapped almost all the way round, so it had a few welds at it to keep it in place, it wasn't rotten.
There is only two patches that need doing but were doing more then that, and also will be replacing the area around the fuel cap. It isn't rotten but has gone through a little bit.
There are bits that I'm going to treat and leave, after some paint and sealing.

Not sure mate, ill be driving it as a learner for a fair while which is £615, which is better then the quote on my escort, which was 1200 on a provisional!
Obviously I'm expecting it to go up.
