Ho guys going to look at 2009 fiesta zetec s 1.6 tdci tomorrow. What are the main thing to look out for on these. I understand these have a problem with injector seals but is that all to look out for.

 

Mainly, yes.

You need to be checking the injectors are tight, they come loose and this is what causes all sorts of problems. To be honest, if they haven't been checked they will almost certainly be loose. Providing engine runs nicely and does't smoke then just get them looked at yourself.

Only really seen injector seal issues on the older shape Fiesta/Fusion/Focus when they first used the French pos engine. Older versions of the 1.6/1.4 tdci had turbo issues which can re-occur if the proper TSB isn't followed (lots of parts to be replaced) to cure oil supply issues.
