Hadn't seen this post before, but suprisingly fuel filters do cause a lot of issues on TDCIs...

Seen pumps/injectors replaced for no reason, then car brought into main dealer, we fit a fuel filter - sorted.

Always do the cheap stuff first

Similar issue other day on a focus it run like a pig he'd be told pump and injectors needed doing. I fitted 11 quid off filter and run like a dream. People take fault codes too literally.

Same here, had a Focus 1.6 TDCI in, had been elsewhere, new MAF, new no3 injector (that was leaking) new EGR, kept going into limp after about 5 miles of driving.

Fixed the fuel leak, new fuel filter..sorted.

My mondeo had quite a bit of hesitation at 2500rpm, would be worse the more throttle you used. Full service, not had an issue since!
