If you have proof of how it was before you sent it to them I really can't see how they can say it's not proof! After all if you have been employed as a hgv driver the company's you have worked for will also have copy's of the licence as it was! As for them needing the date you passed there taking the piss arnt they they issued it they must have it!

You are fucked. You need a certified as copy of original photocopy, perhaps from a past work.

Otherwise you are at the mercy of the test centre having records or even still existing.

The irony is, DVLA WILL have a backup of the database somewhere.

However they will not admit that to you nor will they access the database for mere driver enquiries.

A total scandal if you ask me. I refuse to accept that it is impractical or impossible for an organisation of that size to have NO way of accessing its data backups. Also They are lying if they say no backup exists, no government database that big is NOT backed up.

The joke is if you committed and offence and they needed proof against you they'd soon have the backup up and running downloading everytime sneezed as well.

As many people have found, once you've lost the category the only way back is to take relevant the test again.

Surely you have a digi tacho card? Thats going to be half the proof you have been driving. Your previous employer should have a copy of your license, that will have the date your test was passed on it as thats when the license is valid from.

If i was in your situation, there is part of me that would suggest having someone report you for driving without license, the police would have to investigate and dvla look into previous records.

Have you been given a producer at any time since passing? Police will have a written record of your license number and entitlements on that too.

This has been a huge problem for many years. Even watch dog had to get involved.

Your employer should have copies any way. Also there is a licence check hotline companies ring to double check for agency drivers. Ring that and ask for verification on your class 1 and 2.
