Saw one of these on eBay t'other day at £35k so this is cheap.
I don't know enough to comment but why do they command such a high premium over the standard version?
Is it purely down to exclusivity?
I think someone put up t'other day that an airbox is £4k from BMW!!!
Awesome looking car.

Air box is £4k 2nd hand.....

All down to small amount built (like the RS500 Sierra), they were BMW at the peak of engineering and many people say that there will never be a BMW as good. They were £60k new (£17k more than a normal M3) and you could have any options for free and if you held a race licence they'd delimit the car for free as well (180 mph unlimited).
For an out if the box car I've never owned anything quite so good and I don't really know why I'm selling it.....

Stunning car Steve........ Ive had the pleasure of driving one of these when i had my E46 M3......... It was leaps and bounds above the standard one i had.......

AWESOME cars and IMHO the E46 was THE best M3 so this can only KEEP going up in value.

Maybe its too cheap Steve!!!!!!

I've driven a few of them when I worked in a bmw main dealer when they were launched and they are brilliant and like night and day compared to driving a standard smg

Can't see you having much problems shifting it if that's what you REALLY want to do but don't think I would sell it myself but glwts anyway

Unless you really need the money, I don't see these ever depreciating that much. Too few around and too good a car to lose a lot of value.

I think that should tell you when a buyer has seen it and ready to part cash, will you agree to let it go. As above though, I'd keep it.

the only M3 i would thinkabout, i have seen these scare 996 TTs on track through the bends - crisp handling and lightness makes these a true drivers car

awesome

Second hand WOW!!!

Stunning motor at a great price.

Bit of a dream car for most but as stated above can only really go up in value.
I'm looking to get a M3 myself in the winter and couldn't justify this but it does look VERY special.

Good luck with the easy sale.

Had a check done and there was a hairline crack (I couldn't see it but BMW said it was there). The repair cost them £7000..!!!! This is a problem with all E46's and a case of when not if it happens...

Great cars, deffo a modern classic.

Remember standing at Brunnchen at the Nurburgring in the summer of 2003 when these came out and 3 grey ones came through, could hear them coming for miles!

(or km's)

Some prices for genuine BMW E46 CSL stuff... (prices from CA automotive)

Front bumper £2700
Steering rack £1261
Carbon door trims £4926 EACH
Carbon airbox conversion £5416

Superb cars and worth every penny of the £25k asking price.

Had mine 5yrs now and still love it to bits.
Every drive is special and even better if you get it on a track.

Don't sell it Steve........you will be back and they will have risen in value

Sorry to spam your thread mate, i test drove the 1M before buying my last Evo and i have to say it was stunning, let's say i chose the wrong car

Just a thought if you fancy something that way, but i guess the CSL is as good anyway, if not better???

GLWTS pal, awesome cars and worth every penny this is .
