Went to ZOO yesterday - big up Sean B, Brom and Fuzz !!!
Went to ZOO yesterday for the first time - big up Sean B, Brom and Muff!!!
They are fitting a ZOO rear beam (road version) to the Es Cos
Very tempted to go the "whole hog" (as Paul Egl) with coil overs and adjustable TCA's.........Just thinking it may be OTT for a mainly road car...........any views please???

I don't think it's OTT at all to be honest Doug.
Coilovers aren't unduly hard at all and can be set soft for road, and from what I've seen, the TCAs make the world of difference.
Do it and you wont be disappointed

Phi,
Doug would beg to differ...
Doug,
YES, YES, YES. The car would be SO much better with the geometry perfected (as it is usually worse one side than the other on the front). Coil-overs ONLY with the correct spring rates, otherwise stick with the Konis.

Doug, you need to have adjustable platforms to have it corner weighted. The avo's were only around Ł500 and when wound down for the road are perfectly acceptable. Get Brom to fit the jonnys to the rosejoints though. I use the car a lot and when water gets in them they squeak

I want the softest ride possible (roads around here are sh*t), but with really good/progressive handling.......I know it will be a bit of a compromise.

Doug, you can enjoy a nice handling car far more than just a powerful car on our congested and well policed roads I reckon
Doug,
Stick with the Konis and do everything else then. That way you KNOW you won't spoil the car. This is what I had on mine until recently and I was able to push Dingy round Dono NO probs

and Dingys car is not too slow either Mike, what about keeping the Koni's but adding adj TCA's, worth doing?

Yes, this is exactly what I had: Konis, Zoo beam, A1 adajustable TCAs and Eibachs.
In the end I forced Steve to make an error and he nearly spun off
. I also had to lift off the throttle in mid-corner (to avoid him) and nearly joined him
. However, I was close enough that I was going to do him down the back straight that lap anyway (even if it was on the brakes
).

Doug, I did mine in stages and had the TCA's on there own on std koni kit. You do notice the difference esp on turning. It can also be adjusted to suit how YOU like to drive. At first mine was twitchy on the straights and I found it disconcerting so the boys adjusted it for more stability and it's suits how I like the car set up.

Just checked the fridge, i have enough milk for a couple of brews
Thanks for all the replies - much appreciated............will stay with the Koni/Ahmed springs for now, and get adt TCA's fitted - will do for now
Nige, did you get a quote from Longlife for the 3.5" exhaust system????

corner weighting does matter on the road i did alan rainbows saff last week
it was pulling to the left i put it on the scales and it was 67 % to the left front
once i got the wieght 100% it tranformed the car
as doug said the konis are shite
he said his mondy wud go round the twisty bits better than his escort
and as for no muff down the zoo we got 2 well known page 3 gurls down for a photo shoot next week

.And the fact you have 8pots and more power is amazing that you could keep up with a 360bhp cossie

Steve,
On the brakes or what-ever, I was coming through that lap
- probably why you span trying to keep me behind
.
I think only 100bhp more than you, yet 400kg more evens things out somewhat
.
Brom you nuggart, of course corner weighting coil-overs is a MUST, but doing so on Konis is a bit pointless.
Also I was on Konis when I was pushing YOU out of the corners at Dono as well (I even had to flash you out of the way with my lights
), so they can't be THAT shit given the weight and power difference you had
