External wastegates....
Is there a certain point where external wastegated turbos are needed?
As in once a certain power is achieved/wanted are they needed and beneficial or is it just down to personal preference whatever the spec and power is?
Are there pros and cons for running externally gated turbos?
Cheers Paul

for me,
since 2001 i have used EXT wastegates on all of my YB`s (one of the first in the uk roadgoing saffs so i am told)
one for open wastegate or "screamer" pipe noise
and two for dead on accurate boost pressure precision when setup correctly
ive ran everything from T3.48 to Turbonetics T61/66 (.88 to 1.03AR) ext gated and it will only give you a gain in midrage and top end performance
so 100% win with no loss when built propperly
not a shonkey cut and welded upper 2wd manifold setup, these are just shit! Dont do that as flow rates are shocking
