Default Mondeo's 2007+ onwards

Hi All

Looking at these for the new family car

I really like the titanium x's especially the sport variant

I have seen you can get the 5 pot turbo engines and Il probably stay away from that but what other petrol engines do they come in?

What diesel engine is the one to go for and what shall i be looking out for?

thanks

something like this id be more than happy with

1.8/2.0/2.2 TDCI, power varies on them ranging from 125hp to 175.

TXS are usually either 2.0 163hp or 2.2 175hp.

Got a Ghia 2.0 140 TDCI with the sports pack and I can't fault it tbh!!

1.8 is Ford engine, 2.0 and 2.2 is Peugeot. I've got the 1.8 titanium x, in the process of fitting the sport kit. I love it to bits, got all the toys and is really comfy. I average just over 50 mpg in it, you will get 55 on a run if you are steady.

Share some pics up of yours if you have any and what recommended mods can you suggest?

Is it a hassle with lights etc when fitting the sport body kit to it?

Thanks!

No its easy, front lip and grilles clip on, rear valance and side skirts need to be bonded on. I've just got the side skirts to fit now but waiting for a dry weekend to do it. It's getting a full service tomorrow, lowering springs and an exhaust fitted too. I've got some pics in the projects section!

Just read your thread. Coming along very nicely mate well done I love it. I am headed towards one better value than a b7 a4 I used to have and can't find another a6 like the one I had and I think running costs will be a breeze

Yes I've not had any major trouble with mine only thing I suggest is if it's got halogen projector lamps then turn them on and go round lots of roundabouts etc. The lights turn with the steering and it's common for them to go faulty and come up with an error message on the dash. Mine does it occasionally but im not too worried about it.

Dash facia has to come out and possibly changed. Maybe the aerial too and the wiring for sat nav to pick up signal from the aerial.

Right lads iv bought one and an really happy. Feels like a spaceship coming from a focus rs lol

Its a titanium and has a lot of this including nav. Really specd up car. Only a 1.8 tdci but we wanted space toys and economy and 75mph on the instant mpg at 70mph doesn't get better

Will get pics up as soon as.

TalkFord is probably the biggest Mondeo forum, I use it every now and again, seem to be a few knowledgeable folk on there.

Got a mk 4 on an 07 plate. Titanium X 2.0 and it's been fantastic.
Adjustable shocks as well so drives like a boat or firm as hell or normal.

Really good build quality. I honestly have no complaints with it at all.

And the 2.0 or 2.2 is the better of the engines to have.
