Default Mk3 2.5 mondeo electrical????

HI, WENT AND CHANGED NUMBER 97 FUSE IN GLOVE COMPARTMENT YESTERDAY AND WHEN I WENT TO START THE CAR THE DISPLAYS ON THE CLOCKS SHOWED FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN SHOWED DOTTED LINES GOING THROUGH THEM AND THE CAR WONT EVEN START. HAVE CHECKED ALL FUSES IN GLOVE COMPARTMENT AGAIN AND THE FUSES UNDER BONNET BUT THEY ALL LOOK FINE. CAN ANYONE HELP.

Why did you change fuse 97?

water was not coming out onto windscreen, thought it might have been fuse come before checking the little motor and 97 was showing as the fuse for washer thing.

Normally --- shows on the instruments if it's lost communication between modules, or a 5 volt reference sensor has shorted.

Sure you haven't knocked any plugs out of the fuse box or disturbed anything when changing fuses?

have checked everything again to make sure nothing else was disturbed, where would these 5v reference sensors be located as you said one of these may have shorted out.

5v reference sensors are all over the engine.

Throttle sensor, air mass meter, well, most sensors...

If it's not something you've knowingly disturbed, it needs diagnostics doing to point to an issue.

THANKS FOR THE ADVICE, AM GOING TO TRY AND GET A DIAGNOSTIC DONE ONE DAY THIS WEEK HOPEFULLY, WILL LET YOU KNOW THE OUTCOME, ELECTRICS ARE A NIGHTMARE, MECHANICS AM GOOD WITH BUT THIS HAS BAFFLED ME.
