many people have modded these over the years but normally with a change of engine being 1st port of call if keeping it std then suggest a full service and do the cosmetics

are you wanting to keep it diesel because if you are then you are very limited on mods, or are you wanting the extra grin factor if so plenty of decent options for a better power plant

A few stickers
Tinted lights

there is a vast amount of options for the body the same as any mk6 escort, all depends on your budget and expertise and personal taste, as for engine then a good service

you can buy ready made replica skirts and cossie style rear bumper as well as one piece back door etc, front fogged bumper from any mk6 fits no problem

gti seats are pretty dire tbh your better off going for rs2000 ones and getting early Si door cards to match, the world is your oyster as mods for these are endless

Best bet? Leave the 1.8d alone as you'll piss money away in the wind trying to tune it bar a good service and maintenance.

If want it to be faster and have central locking and electric windows - buy a scrapper escort TDDI and swap the lot over.
