Default rs2000

Hi

A mate has an rs2000 mk6 that's been stood a while on his garden no tax or mot. as far as I know the car has high mileage but the interior is mint it starts and runs original alloys in good nick and new tyres and the bodywork needs some tlc. I can buy it for cheap money but would like to know what you lot reckon its worth.

Any help to get me in the ball park would be great

Steve

Without seeing the car its hard to say as the chassis legs on the back etc may be dead. But a fair bid would be around Ł500

when you say the bodywork needs TLC, can you be a little more specific? A good T cut or new panels and loads of welding? I would say 800ish, unless it needs a lot of welding

pull the kick plates off in the foot wells and then you can peel the carpet back a fair bit to see the floor in the front foot wells. Look under the sound deadening.
look in the boot and behind the carpets etc. look at the rear chassis legs and give the tow eye a good wiggle. Check everywhere even under the rubber seals on the door shuts etc. Battery tray is also very common.

Have a look at some of the restoration threads on the mk/6 escorts also. This may help you further as some escorts are quite bad.

Mk6 with that description 250 mk5 a fraction more because of the bonnet. Would only pay 900 for a full runner with tax and test.
