Even stock 200 block can handle easily +700hp.
I do not know that is the basic 200 block more durable than the basic 500 block, or vice versa.

 

Yeah it can with liners in it I may just go the 200 route saves confusion

 

my gen 500 block cracked all the way down one side between every water jacket and bolt hole at 400bhp

 

I was under the impression there where also ford made motorsport replacement ones that had no stamps on them? Bit confusing all this lol may stick too a 200 block

 

I guess that's the luck of the draw mate rod used a 500 block as I be leave it's stronger

That's sort of what I was getting at so cost dependant why not just buy a 200 block as I can imagine there a lot cheaper than a gen 500 block?

Why not ask the tuner who is going to be building the motor what they would suggest? Not a dig but through past experience picking someone reputable and using them from start to finish normally saves a lot of time and hassle along with lots of money even if it looks more expensive in the first place

I no what your saying bud I can pick through the junk just wanted to know if it is a 500 / motorsport 500 block. I'm in too minds now as this block is on a 94mm bore and the liners I'll be using are just over 94.5 so thinking I may just look for a standard 200 to save messing about

 

Rod uses a 4wd 200 block.

That's what I'm going to do now will be a safer bet than messing about with an un known it was just close by

 

That block is a Gen rs500 motorsport block

 

That was on ebay, its honed to fuck and decked for a n/a build.

Says nothing about being decked and is bored to 92.8 but he says there's damage to a bore and it needs boring to 94mm not sure why lol any way the liners I'll be using are just over 94.5 so I may still go look at it

 

Deck height will be needed to be checked.It should be over skimmed.

Sorry, i thought the add said it had been decked by quite an amount. May be thinking about two different adds.

I have a 205 block thats been lined, i was advised that the heat transfer between the two materials can create problems. So i used a different block and oversized pistons.

On the other hand i've also been told that reylands Nikasil Liner Conversion is the ultimate thing to have.

Either way its Ideal now as i have a spare bottom end just in case

 

I would check it at crank line.

Selected because it had 25k low powered miles & heat cycled. It was a new Block that cracked.

 

A used block is always best BMW F1 turbo blocks were used items left outside in all weathers and pissed on too apparently

207.5mm is std. height.

Iver way it's not for me now the guy says it's had 15 thou taken off the deck hight.
Had it not id have brought it and used it.
