Lol i know!!
Saying that, my example of a mk3.5 was no use, as its 1994 and has a mk3 bootlid!! Lol
Here is a mk3.5 bootlid

Ps. The mallard car i show you has an early bootlid and wiper arm. Mk3.5s have a more modern wiper arm, found on mk4 and mk5 fiestas too

thanks for the help, I will have a check. it was tight in a garage so couldn't see properly, are we thinking £200 max, only really considering it really to put to one side for a few years as its a tidy example, would prefer a mk3 tho really
3.5 had clear indicators, PATS keys and LED in the clock, injection on all models except Diesel (CFi/single point injection if not multipoint)
seat bases were bolted to the floor different and wheel bearing sizes were larger on the front
oval wing repeaters, no boot swage line and slim bump strips on the side.
choice of 155 70 13 or 165 6513 tyres on budget cars.
door latches were different by anti theft guards, remove the locks and they were 8 sided rather than 4, doors identifiable by 2 bolts at the top rather than the bottom of the latch
most differences from memory
oh and airbags!
