Very soon after I got my fiesta I noticed the very common over revving, but it has now started to "choke" as I hit hit the gas when it's cold. Is this the same cause as the over revving?

The problem are:

1. Revs creep at standstill up so I have to let out the clutch to bring them down.

2. When first starting, if I hit the accelerator it will cut the revs and try and stall.

3. On the motorway at about 3,500 rpm it will lose power/revs.

All these problems are intermittent.

Fiesta mk4 1997 1.2 Zetec.

 

Maybe try putting petrol in it instead of gas?

 

Lol, tps maybe? Try unplugging it to see if it makes a difference

 

When was it last serviced as blocked filter could be a reason maybe it's to much are or fuel ??

 

might have a potato stuck in the exhaust??

try plugging it in to get evidence rather than guessing

take some live readings and it will lead you to what the fault is.
