Think you have a fast car.........
Well its Vmax time again lets see if we can get an rs there this time.
For those that wanted a Daddy Thrash this is your chance. I wish i could enter thats for sure.
You can line up with the Supercars & battle down the 1.7mile straight head to head. Some you may beat some you sure as hell wont, but it is the ultimate test for your car.
You can enter on Pistonhead or below.

Its for road cars that drive to the event no stickered up Hybrids at this event its more a Toffs dayout not TOTB.
The Vmax record is circa 235mph
or 1250bhp in a Cossie if you want to beat it
.
There are no Winners or published results on the day its not a competition just a fun day. 32 cars have exceeded 200mph over the years so some really fast cars are entered. Fastest Ford todate is the Roosh Mirage Ford GT40 with 206.0 mph recorded. You could go head to head with that Mirage if its entered. If it is entered I expect it to beat the UK Ford record of 206.1mph.

It's a shame your car isn't ready
A friend of mine is gathering parts from the US for his Mustang Gt shelby 650 at the moment. He is hoping to achieve around 1000bhp and enter Top speed events.
I have spoke to Rod about this already, The car is a little way off at present but is making progress.

Ive only heard of 4 Fords to reach 200mph there, 2 Cossies & 2 Ford GT's.
Doing 200mph in 7 miles at the salt flats wont cut it at Brunters
.As an example the Fastest Sierra is a Merkur which reached 211mph with 600bhp but took over 5 miles at Brunters high 180's at best.
With 840bhp mine recorded 11.6 secs 100 to 186 mph fast for a Cossie but out of its depth against these guys.
Few cars from finland. Here we drive standing mile, possibly next summer it´s just 1000meters. I think that would be enough. I drove on my Mk2 escort 248km/h in 950 metres, then head casket blew..More speed next summer!
Fast Toyotas..
and other one

Be good if rod could be bothered to ship his sierra over to bonneville salt flats with some funky gearing and see what it could do , wander what speed it could hit
. Big bang somewhere along the way is my guess at what would happen

If I had a Cossie (or any car) with 500bhp+, I'd be at this like a shot. It must be an awesome craic, wouldn't give a monkeys if I got beaten by some playboy in a £100,000 motor surely it's all about the laugh and buzz of lining up against something special and having a pop at it... isn't that why we are all into Cossies "the underdog"?

This picture made us all chuckle

So how much power and weight would yours need to be to be up there? You'll be looking 1000+. Most these cars are lightweight chassis. So in comparison it's pretty good going at 800hp

And on another note, with respect, I've ridden in some fairly swift machinery over the years ; )

Porsches, AMG Mercedes, Nissan GTR's, TVR's, Nobles, etc. I was only beaten by a 1000 brake Viper and an MG SV

Love it, if my car would do more than 120mph without my arse twitching then I'd give it a go too. I reckon I'd hammer the odd badly driven TVR and Porsche... in fact I reckon most Cossies off here would. Get involved peeps!
