peugeot 205 1.9 gti SOLD SOLD SOLD
putting my pug up for sale
ive owned it about 7 months now and its been used for daily duties in that time and has never let me down and been a great fun car to own just want to free up some cash for my mk2 escort im building
the car is in good condition and isnt at all rotten or in need of welding like a lot of the early 205's do
its only had 3 registered keeper and one of them had it for over 18 years, i know the guy he loved the car and looked after it very well
its covered about 150,000 miles and last year had an 80,000 mile engine fitted due to the previous owner snapping a couple of headbolts whilst trying to do a headgasket change. the cambelt was changed prior to fitting the engine and it has covered about 3000 miles since
it has had the gearbox rebuilt about 1500 miles ago due to it shitting itself lol! and a new clutch was fitted at the same time
interior is in good condition no rips or tears in the seats or carpet but could do with a good valet as i am a mechanic and do drive it in my work clothes and boots!
the bodywork is tidy for the age with no dents but obviously with its age it has a few stonechips and light scratches here and there
its got an aftermarket spoiler on it which i like but some may not
its got a stainless backbox on which isnt overly loud and sounds quite nice in my opinion
since ive owned it ive done a full service
new discs and pads front and rear
both front wheel bearings
front droplinks
dizzy cap and rotor arm
new battery
fresh longlife antifreeze
bad points, not much but im being honest about the car
gearchanges are a little sloppy but this is common with 205's, it does have adjustable linkages but ive never really messed with them as it does go in the gears easy enough
clutch biting point is a bit higher than it should be, this is due to a small metal rod on the release arm needing replacing, the original fell out and i had to guess at the length it should be when i made one to replace it, its never really bothered me as its fine to drive but could be easily sorted if you wanted to
dashboard has a few cracks which again is common on the phase 1 dashboards
idle speed is a little high, it could probably benefit from a setup of the dizzy, idle speed etc again its not bothered me as it starts fine from cold and drives fine no cutting out or stalling etc
its got around 7 months or more mot i cant remember off top of my head and currently has no tax
im after £1600

can see idle speed in this one

nice and dry under here

very tidy floor to sill joins

I bought one of these in 09! Bog standard 1.9 and i loved it! Then i ruined it by fitting bucket seats, gti6 engine etc. I liked it standard! This one looks really good and the spoiler looks cool! 2k is a good price for a car that is only gonna go up in value
glwts
ill have a proper look how its fitted tomorrow, im sure if not it would be easy enough to find a tailgate in the same colour as this gunmetal is one of the more popular colours at least up this way anyway
