Default Canadian Winter Cosworth Project

Hi everyone!

So I am new here and I have done many hours of googling about the 2L Cosworth YB series. I have a 1987 Merkur XR4Ti, it was sold by Mercury dealers in North America, it is the cousin of the Sierra. She looks only slightly different.

I am trying to do a build here in Canada and there are no real Cosworth Sierra guru's here. I have alot of questions and this forum seems to be the best place for answers.

Project goals are, get it to run first off, then likely a switch to 803's with the 3 Bar MAP but the problem I'm running into is which ECU to use?

Can anyone recommend some good breaker yards to deal with for spare parts who ship to Canada hopefully?

There will be alot more questions but I think this is enough to start.

Hope everyone is geared up for project season!

Thank you kindly,
Trevor

I think pacwest is contactable via youtube. Mad I might sound but I was reading his thread yesterday, clicked on one of his videos and went on his channel to see more of his 4i, but there were only two, and some recent sailing videos iirc lol. So I think he's still alive..

Hey Bronze! I'm in Fort McMurray, originally Kelowna, and I found a guy in the states who is selling Cosworth Engines. Unless you know where I can pick one up for 4000 in Canada.

Hi Trevor

I have a 4i that is cossie powered, had it 10+ years now.

It was running just over 500bhp until it broke lol

Paul @ NYRS is a trader you can trust 100% over here for cossie parts.

Most of the stains on the drive are from rebuilding the 3dr.

Does anyone have a good person to get an RS Whale Tail from. The vendors in the states no longer carry the Fibreglass Replicas.

For anything Cosworth related and requiring shipping speak to either of these

Mark - www.mtmotorsport.com

Paul - www.cosworthrsspares.co.uk

I sold parts to a guy from Canada, dealt with his friend in the states but they seem to have contacts I'll see if he's a member on here, I know he's on the escort Cosworth site under Wesley p.

Hi

I have all the rs 500 moulds to make full kits but it's no it rest !

Cost more to make one and how much you can ask for one always everybody just grinding so wats the point?

I wood like to help I have lot off parts and cars but I don't like to get used so this is only reason say don't have anything so everybody can go to the uk just like I do and buy from thar and shipping and tax and time so than. Everybody undostends why is cost this much!
Everybody in North America has to undostends cosworth parts not cheap so if you like to play with this cars don't bee allergic to spend money!
