Why the fuck wont the police take car crime seriously??

This carries on and there will be a vigilante killing of a thief in the near future and a shock headline of "how can this of happened" yadda yadda etc.

Pretty fucking simple, if the 5-0 place it as low priority because its hard to catch the criminals and theres no money making in catching them, then its inevitable eventually someone is going to fight back and someones going to get killed.

Personally i think we should have more rights to use violent force to protect our property, however it will never work without the back up of the justice system and more aggressive policing as if owners up the violence, so will the thieves.

Just ring them up. Must be a phone number in line. But they won't be able to tell you what's exactly in the containers I'd have thought?
These thieves will eventually get caught if they are selling them on that is. Even if these rare parts come up for sale it should be a red flag to someone.
Warren, your right again mate. That's the way public mentality is heading with this

It's mint, so I'd guess it's been stolen to order and will remain in someone's private collection.

At least the insurance will pay out, must be insured for around Ł50,000.

Hope it gets found soon in one piece (unlikely though), must be going abroad as everyone else has already said, as its such a rare car it would be hard to hide in this country.

Who's saying it won't go straight into co.petitions here, those motors to replicate from Burton are mega mega money and here someone has a complete car to park side by side and transfer - cut the chassis plate off the mk2 weld up and repaint put graphics on and away they go with another shell

That car will be kept in one piece I reckon. Pointless turning into anything else, too much work and expense.

I thought these were rarer and more exclusive than a RS500! Proper Cosworth engine with "heritage"! I think it is a BDA. I am sure I will be corrected if I am wrong!

So sad that really serous security is now required to keep these cars now!

I also believe that warren is right, it is a matter of time till a well motivated and trained person is there to stop a theft. The the smelly brown stuff will hit the fan.

How can anyone that calls themselves an enthusiast instigate the theft of another enthusiasts car! Let alone sit back and admire it in their collection knowing it's stolen!

hope they get it back that is bad news, they must have planned it to take that much effort to get it out, unlikely its going to be found sitting around if they planned it.

BDA motor is worth a huge amount now, and a group 4 spec Rally Escort Rs is worth Ł60k-Ł100k so you can see why it might get stolen to order, hope it turns up.

If the car is in such a showroom condition and worth so much money why is it been left outside in the elements?

should never have been stolen and feel for the guy but is shocking that such a rare care would be outside, chained up or not.

could have been left out for a might to go somewhere EARLY the next morning....

and just because the "bastards removed a post that was in front of it and a chain that was around the back axle, the pricks even took the concrete & post out of the ground, removed the chain & nicked them as well!" doesn't mean it was outside.... I have done this for cars inside a garage too.....

Sad for the owner but if it was left outside regularly then that's just madness for such a rare car.

To go to the effort of taking it with the post and no one hearing anything, whether in garage or not, they've been watching it for a long time! If it was outside surely you would have it camera'd up?? I know I would.
