ST170 full leather Recaro.

Need to take them off to get some seat covers on, As i'll be using it for work for a few weeks, They lock at the end after 3 clicks.
Do I really need to pull them apart just to pull a wire to release them?
I'm guessing it will be easier just to cut the covers and then restitch them.

On some seats you do have to take the seat apart and partly remove the standard cover to get to the clips that hold the headrests in. Not done one on an ST170 though, where the headrest posts go in to the seat there is sometimes a clip to push in that lets you remover them

 

A guy i used to work with had this problem, sounds daft i know but he had his mum stitch a zip between the two holes so he could pull them over.

Cant really remember how well it worked, just remember talking the piss on lunch watching him have a fight with his seat covers.

 

CheeRS Guzzler, There's no way I would even think about pulling my seats apart :P
From what I can remember it's the same mount as most fords, Black plastic ring with the awkward side button where you need 4 hands, 2 to hold the buttons in and 2 to lift the headrest, It's raises up pretty easy then locks about 2-3 inchs up.
