2.0 xr4x4 diffs in a cossie ?
has anyone ever fitted the diffs from a 2.0 xr4x4 into their 4wd saff or escos to take advantage of the 3.92 diff ratios?
is it just a staright swap ?
any info appreciated guys

Yep straight swap James, sold some to a guy a while back that came off a ghia estate I had for the exact conversion. I have heard that they are not a strong as cossie diffs but cannot see why as they are limited slippers on the rear and normal open on the front same as a cos, just a different teeth count

Be careful it's must be the 2.0 xr4x4 not the v6
I have a 3.9 rear in my race car with drop gears in the box using a standard 3.6 front diff as the 3.9 front diff is known to be weak when putting medium to big power through it, due to the physical size of the teeth which are small to squeeze more in!

The box will give up before the diffs jay
But as ever, abuse will kill everything
You do feel the effects of the different ratios but it just means that you can get into the power quicker
In the real world I had at least twice the power with 362 diffs in my estate but the 392 CSR was only fractionally slower round the twisties, 3 or 4 mph isn't an awful lot when you are hanging it off the limiter in 2nd
