I'm sure it's September 92 when the law changed to have a cat. So pre 92 engine won't need checking.

I had a decat and no lamba on my 2.0 cabby. Told em it was pre cat registered engine. They changed the emission test and it passed straight away.

No N/A 2.0. That shouldn't matter. The pre cat emissions are a higher percent carbon rate. Asking as it falls within that band it's fine. Think about every car pre 92 had to go by the same test, 1.0 - 3.0+. So I wouldn't worry bout it too much.

There was a way that a car dealer showed me when I setup. It's to do with the little clock looking imprints. I'm sure you will have seen them on a part or 2. To get a rough Idea go on if its a silvertop or blacktop. That will narrow down to pre or post 2000 roughly

They always go with whats older. Car or the engine. In your case the engine so it has to be below 3.5 ppm i believe. But im no MOT tester

Doesn't matter. You could have changed the rocker cover. The blacktop is more likely to be easier on emissions as its slightly newer. Font quote me but in theory the newer and lesser wear should do you a favour
