Default Switching from 2wd plenum to 4x4

Hi,

I'm switching my 2wd plenum to 4x4 plenum, and need some advice.

Was going to keep the actual 2wd inlet manifold on the head, and just switch the plenum over. What else will I need to change? Can I use -

2wd throttle body and all llinkages etc?
2wd fuel rail etc?

Or will I need other parts?

Thank you,

Ben

It all bolts on and u can use the same throttle body and linkage but u either need to weld an extra bracket on the rail, the lugs on a 4wd plenum don't match a 2wd rail, or use the 4wd rail and regulator.

Ben, 4x4 plenum flows better apparently, one piece design and just... better?! Have been advised to go this route on my engine and luckily have one laying around.

Thanks Lee, will get hold of a 4wd rail and regulator then and that's all just to clarify? Everything else I've already got 2wd will just swap over?

From memory the fuel rail fixing points on the plenum are different so you'd have to do some fiddling with those.

Thanks lee and kitchen

Steve, he did, but seeing as I have a 4x4 one lying around an I'm only going for 400bhp he was comfortable with it as "a bare minimum". We've also "discussed" pocketing my pistons an he's right but I can't be arsed currently lol!

AB07 or whatever he thinks will suit best... with a T36 on a YB0611'd standard engine aiming for the magical 400bhp. On 55's, L8 and air injetors

I'd like to know how this setup performs with the T36.

Basically my spec is going identical but using a T34.48

Im using bracket that picks up off one of the plenum cover bolt holes to use the 2wd fuel rail on 4wd cover.

Why are you changing from the T34.63 to T34.48 ?

Because I want boost sooner rather than later.

Not too bothered about power figures.

throttle response will be a lot better aswell with the smaller housing, it does make road cars nicer to drive

Yeah that's what I'm looking for.

No point in me chasing big numbers using a YB. Simply don't have that kind of money.

So instead I'm looking or a punchy, aggressively accelerating car. (Never really see north of 120mph anyway! Lol)

I was in exactly the same boat with my gtr.

I bought a 1.06 housing for my gt40 but once I fixed all the boost circuit leaks and felt the responsiveness of my 0.84 housing I decided to keep it as its worth more than a few extra hp up top
